Starting with v197 systemd/udev will automatically assign predictable, stable network interface names for all local Ethernet, WLAN and WWAN interfaces. This is a departure from the traditional interface naming scheme (“eth0”, “eth1”, “wlan0”, …), but should fix real problems.

.

How to activate this:

1) Add net.ifnames=1 to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT line in /etc/default/grub.
2) Run update-grub2 as root.
3) Empty the file /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

# cat /dev/null > /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

4) Prohibit /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules file modifications.

# chattr +i /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

5) Restart your system.
